CAPELIA MANAGEMENT SAS was founded in 2008 by five experienced company leaders who shared a conviction: that the best investors in entrepreneurial businesses are entrepreneurs themselves. From day one, every euro of capital raised by CAPELIA has come from business owners, and that commitment remains absolute today with 70 active entrepreneur-investors. Over 17 years, we have developed a repeatable and disciplined methodology for identifying, valuing and supporting SMEs through ownership transitions — a process that combines financial rigour with genuine operational empathy. Our five founding entrepreneurs remain directly involved in every investment decision, sitting alongside the operational team to ensure that experience and analytical discipline are always in the room together. CAPELIA operates from three offices — Lyon, Lille and Paris — giving us the national reach to serve companies across France without sacrificing the proximity that meaningful partnership requires. We invest between €3 million and €12 million per transaction, across all sectors and all forms of transmission structure, from minority stakes to full majority acquisitions. What differentiates us is not simply our capital but the active network we place at the service of each portfolio company: business introductions, senior recruitment assistance, strategic sounding-board sessions and access to external growth opportunities. We are deliberately neither a passive financial sponsor nor an intrusive operational manager — we sit in the space between, as a committed, informed and pragmatic shareholder. Our team of ten operational professionals brings complementary skills in investment analysis, deal structuring, ESG integration and compliance, ensuring that our engagement is both thorough and responsible.
